Soon I hope to post a video of Nathan or I reading a book to Luke. Right now, Luke's favorite book is a toss up between Dr. Seuss's ABC book and Wynken, Blynken, and Nod (the classic Dutch lullaby in book form). I like W,B and N the best because the illustrations are gorgeous and because of how Luke smiles and says "binkin, nod," throughout. :)
Reading to Luke is such a joy- probably my favorite thing to do with him. He picks up new words each time and even picks out letters. These are he letters that he can recognize: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, M, O, P, U, Z. He is working on I, K, L, S, and Y. I can't believe what a little sponge he is right now!

Just like his Mommy!
Hi Katie,
Hi. That is great you like reading. Do you have enough books in your collection not to get bored, or do you supplement with the library?
Thanos already really likes books, and I have to say I get tired of reading to him and wish he would play with his other toys more. We have a ton of books, but I am already so bored with most of them.
I wanted to ask your take on when to start time-outs. When did you start with Luke? Why?
I have heard a mixture, and I don't want to start if Thanos doesn't understand the cause and effect relationship of the bad behavior and the time out.
Thanks for your input! Beth
Beth,
I do supplement our book supply. We get some from the library and some from our church library (which is amazing-thanks be to God).
Also, Luke has only recently begun to play with his toys, so Thanos will probably find his toys more interesting soon. :)
Post a video! We miss seeing Luke! And you and Nathan too. We're having fun, but California is a lot more fun when you're visiting too.
And you're right. Luke is a little sponge. A smart little sponge. When we get back to Houston, let's find a good library to go to again.
Grammy and Papa J. vote for a video too! We miss you guys.
